HEALTHCARE

Healthcare environments demand precision, safety, and strict regulatory compliance—there is no room for uncertainty.

Healthcare at BDN

At BDN, we partner with healthcare facilities to proactively identify environmental and occupational risks, ensuring safe conditions for patients, staff, and visitors. From industrial hygiene assessments to compliance support during renovations and ongoing operations, our team delivers clear, actionable solutions tailored to the unique challenges of healthcare settings. We help you maintain a safe, compliant environment so you can stay focused on delivering quality care.

Air Monitoring

Air monitoring in healthcare facilities is critical to maintaining a safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors—especially during construction, renovation, and daily operations. BDN conducts targeted air monitoring to support infection control requirements, including containment verification, negative pressure monitoring, and particulate sampling to reduce the risk of airborne contaminants. We also perform waste anesthetic gas (WAG) monitoring to evaluate occupational exposure in surgical and procedural areas, along with pathology and laboratory air assessments to ensure safe handling of chemical and biological agents. Our approach delivers clear, compliant data and actionable recommendations to help healthcare facilities maintain safety and regulatory confidence.

Indoor Air Quality

Indoor air quality in hospitals is critical to protecting vulnerable patients, staff, and visitors. BDN evaluates ventilation performance, airborne contaminants, and moisture conditions to identify risks that can impact health and compliance. Our services also include assessment and monitoring for Legionella, supporting water management programs designed to reduce the risk of Legionnaires’ disease. We provide clear, actionable recommendations to help healthcare facilities maintain safe, compliant, and high-performing environments.

Inspections

Asbestos inspections in hospitals are essential to protect patients, staff, and contractors—particularly given the age and complexity of many healthcare facilities. Prior to any renovation, maintenance, or departmental move, a NESHAP-compliant asbestos inspection is required to identify and assess asbestos-containing materials (ACM) that could be disturbed. For hospitals, limited-scope NESHAP inspections are often performed to support smaller projects such as relocating a department, installing new equipment, or modifying select areas. These targeted inspections focus specifically on the affected work area, identifying ACM in walls, ceilings, flooring, piping, and mechanical systems that may be impacted. This approach minimizes disruption to ongoing hospital operations while still meeting regulatory requirements.
