Manufacturing Health and Safety at BDN
At BDN, we partner with manufacturing facilities to anticipate, recognize, evaluate and control occupational exposure risks, ensuring safe conditions for employees. Our industrial hygiene assessments allow you to make evidence-based decisions regarding both governmental compliance as well as the most up to date science-based best practices. We are here to support EHS professionals and operations supervisor throughout the entire process. Our team delivers clear, actionable solutions tailored to the unique challenges of each individual workplace. We help you maintain a safe, compliant environment so you can stay focused on what you do best.
Manufacturing Services

Air
Monitoring
We evaluate employee exposures for metals and welding fumes, volatile organic solvents (VOCs), respirable crystalline silica, oil mist, isocyanates, acids, aldehydes, and dust and particulates and more based on your operations. We utilize industry best practices to not only provide insight into regulatory compliance on these exposures, but we reference best available health-based exposure guidelines to inform potential recommendations for improving worker health and safety.

Noise exposure (Dosimetry) and sound level monitoring (noise mapping)
Our noise monitoring services provide data to determine your compliance with the MIOSHA regulations related to noise and help you make decisions related to your policies on hearing protection. Noise dosimetry is an occupational hygiene monitoring technique that uses a personal noise dosimeter to continuously measure sound levels near a worker’s ear and calculate the total noise exposure or noise dose received during the monitoring period. Noise mapping is an assessment method in which a sound level meter is used to measure noise levels at different points in a workplace or environment. The results are then plotted to show how noise varies across the area. This technique helps identify high-noise zones, sources of noise, and areas where workers may be exposed to hazardous sound levels. Organizations such as the Michigan Occupational Safety and Health Administration and the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health often recommend noise mapping as part of workplace noise assessments.

Indoor Air Quality
Our IAQ surveys aims to identify mold, fungi, bacteria, volatile organic compounds, and particulates indoor environments. We evaluate the indoor air quality of schools, commercial offices, and healthcare centers to ensure occupant safety and comfort to drive productivity and job satisfaction.
